PERMISSION AND ROLE SYSTEM

A movie crew consists of countless employees working in various movie production departments. Each department or member thereof is assigned individual tasks.

SCRIPTtoMOVIE® has pre-defined over 80,000 permissions for over 200 individual team functions (roles).

Users must be assigned at least one role (e.g., Director) per project. This allocation defines user permissions per project in SCRIPTtoMOVIE®.

SCRIPTtoMOVIE® presents users automatically with a user interface optimized for their function (role). Any item unrelated to the function (role) is hidden. Only information relevant for the team member (role) is made explicitly available. Confidential data such as an actor's clothing size or department cost are only made available -even when released- to the competent team members.

The following permissions are available:

1. Approval permission: Fields and areas with approval permission can be viewed by the user, processed and released in the system. Users with the same field or area permission can always see their current status.

2. Editing permission: Fields and areas can be viewed and edited by the user but not released in the system. Users with the same or approval permission can always view the current field status.

3. Read permission: Fields and areas can be viewed but not edited.

4. No permission: Fields and areas, at times all navigation items, are hidden.

Permissions assigned by SCRIPTtoMOVIE® to roles cannot be changed by the user.

PROJECT OWNER (SPECIAL ROLE):

The project starter automatically becomes the project owner. The project owner has special permissions (administrative permissions such as loading and removing employees, importing and releasing scripts in the system, creating and sharing of shooting schedules in the system). This special permission is also granted when the function (role) he/she has been allocated within the team does not have such permission. The starter may also hand over or transfer the owner-status to others. Owners lose their special permissions upon transferring their function (role).

Select the department of your function (role) to understand how SCRIPTtoMOVIE® can reduce your future workload. Moreover, note the permissions to be allocated to your function (role).
